Unlike DSL and other broadband technologies that are limited to only densely populated areas, T1 service is available just about anywhere with a phone line. To ensure ideal voice quality, QOS must be present at every junction throughout the service provider’s network. This ensures that voice packets receive priority over other types of data. Where QOS is not present, voice packets have no priority over other data. This often results in latency and jitter. Latency and jitter negatively impact voice quality. Most tier 1 providers can now ensure QOS throughout their systems. This costs money however, thus tier 1 VOIP quotes are often a bit higher priced then VOIP services which simply plug into the public internet. Internet VOIP can often offer the many valuable features sought by end users, and lower phone costs, such as $45. per month for unlimited local and long distance service to the continental US and Canada. However, QOS cannot be assured across the public internet. So although an end user can control the QOS throughout their local network, once voice packets reach the internet, QOS can no longer be assured, so voice quality is inconsistent. As the authorized agents for the 22 largest providers in the country, we can provide comparative price quotes for any type of VOIP, or bandwidth, you might need.  T1 Data (Internet), an Introduction

Written by: Dennis Green - Jan 7, 2009

A T1 data line is a high speed, 1.54 megabits per second (Mbps), circuit which is comprised of 24 individual DS-O circuits. Each DS-O channel has a speed of 64 kilobits per second (Kbps). For perspective, your home telephone line is likely a DS-O line. T1 data lines are also at times referred to as DS1 circuits. T1 data is carried through two twisted pairs of copper wires. Virtually, all residences and businesses currently have two pairs of copper wires running to them. T1 lines are capable of delivering 1.54 Mbps simultaneously in both directions, one direction for each pair of copper lines. Because T1 data service is repeater driven (signal is digitally reestablished every 6000 feet), it is available several miles from telephone central offices. For this reason, T1 service can be available to virtually all of the businesses in the US. T1 lines are dedicated, in that they are always connected, and are also extremely stable. Most reputable providers include service level agreements which guarantee the reliability of the T1 lines they offer. Although the term T1 is commonly used when referring to a dedicated high bandwidth connection to the internet, T1 circuits can transfer data in many forms to accomplish a variety of functions. These include: fractional t1 (commonly 128 Kbps to 756 Kbps), burstable (less expensive for companies which normally do not need a full DS1/T1), integrated T1 (one T1 line comprised of any combination the types of DS1/T1 listed here), channelized DS1 (one form of integrated T1), point-to-point (direct and constant DS1 connection between to locations), dynamic integrated (a more state-of-the-art alternative to channelized integrated), local (local phone service), PRI, MPLS (multiprotocol label switching), and frame relay. Each of these types of DS1/T1 has advantages over the others, depending on the specific needs of your company. Also, the availability of each is based on the offerings of each T1 provider and the geographic location. As the authorized sales agent for the top 20 T1 providers in the country, we are able to provide real-time availability and comparative price quotes for any address in the country.
